MD Brick is a successful supplier, retailer and wholesaler of construction goods. As the business has expanded over the years, including an acquisition of another business in the industry, the need for systems and reliable technology was required.

Critically, as the business grew the initially systems began to hold the company back as it required more agility and business intelligence to manage logistics, customer service and overall development.

It became clear very quickly that a partner was required to put forth a strategy, execute and implement the systems and provide ongoing support and service. Each time the system went down or was unresponsive the business was held back in delivery and staff was getting frustrated.

The Solution

TechFlare was engaged to write a strategy and put forward a solution to the issues at hand. Over a period of weeks the team worked with the key personnel in the business and the current IT provider to understand the requirements of the business and how the industry functioned. The first thing that was done was to implement a managed service to provide initial support and build up data on the existing systems and usage of the network. Following this a major project was implemented to shift the customer to Office 365 and build local server support to provide a Hybrid Cloud Solution. Throughout this process the business had minimal impact to allow for trade to continue and the majority of the work was completed out of hours much to the delight of the management team and the owner. With local systems upgraded and Office 365 leveraged, the business found that things were easier, systems were simpler to use and downtime had significantly reduced.

On top of those enhancements, a managed service provided ongoing handling of backups, security and proactive management. This meant that the overhead of technology worries dropped right of and the management team could focus on developing the business and utilise time on critical business activities.
